Thailand: Ko Samui – Ko Pha Ngan – Ko Tao 1995

Ko Samui, Thailand’s second largest island, lies in the Gulf of Thailand off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus. It's known for its palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves and dense, mountainous rainforest plus the landmark 12m-tall golden Big Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai Temple is located on a tiny island connected to Ko Samui by a causeway. Ko Pha Ngan is an island in southeast Thailand that’s renowned for its monthly Full Moon Party. This boisterous night-long celebration, which is tied to the lunar calendar, draws revelers to its southeastern peninsula, Haad Rin. Most festivities center on Sunrise Beach, whose beach bungalows attract a backpacker crowd. On the north coast lie quieter, white-sand beaches including Hat Khuat and Hat Thian. Ko Tao at the time had one row of beach huts and was known for its tropical coral reefs, with species including whale sharks and rays. Hawksbill and green turtles gather here to breed. Thailand: Bangkok 1995

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. The boat-filled Chao Phraya River feeds its network of canals, flowing past the Rattanakosin royal district, home to opulent Grand Palace and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple. Nearby is Wat Pho Temple with an enormous reclining Buddha and, on the opposite shore, Wat Arun Temple with its steep steps and Khmer-style spire.

China is known for its architectural wonders such as the Great Wall and Forbidden City, its staggering variety of delicious food, its martial arts, and its long history of invention. When we first visited in the 1990s Trent with his shock of white hair drew crowds who photographed him, touched his head and then disappeared as quickly as they had appeared out of nowhere!

Malaysia: Tioman and Perhentian Islands

Tioman Island lies off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, in the South China Sea. It's a nature reserve, ringed by beaches. The area is known for its dive sites, which have corals, sea fans and sea sponges, as well as shipwrecks. The island is covered in tropical rainforests, home to butterflies, lizards and monkeys. On the east coast, the Juara Turtle Project is a hatchery that protects and studies sea turtles. Perhentian Islands are beautiful tropical islands in the South China Sea on the east coast of Malaysia. It is a perfect getaway with spectacular pristine beaches, crystal-clear water, rich marine life, and a great variety of things to do.

Singapore

Singapore is so culturally diverse that it feels as though you can walk from one country to another -Arab street, was filled with Arabic food and shopping outlets and the architecture of the entire street felt Arabic. Little India gave all the Indian feels in the entire area....cross over to Sentosa Island which is home to exciting events, themed attractions, award-winning spas, lush rainforests, golden sandy beaches ... fun for everyone!

Indonesia: Yogyakarta, Java

Yogyakarta (often called “Jogja”) is a city on the Indonesian island of Java known for its traditional arts and cultural heritage. Its ornate 18th-century royal complex, or kraton, encompasses the still-inhabited Sultan’s Palace. Also within the kraton are numerous open-air pavilions that host classical Javanese dance shows and concerts of gamelan music, characterized by gongs, chimes and plucked string instruments. Borobudur, also transcribed Barabudur is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple in Magelang Regency, not far from the town of Muntilan, in Central Java. It is the world's largest Buddhist temple. The temple consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome.Prambanan is a 9th-century Hindu temple compound in Special Region of Yogyakarta, dedicated to the Trimūrti, the expression of God as the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer.

Indonesia: Flores: Waecicu Beach and Kelimutu

Flores is one of Indonesia’s Lesser Sunda Islands. It lies east of Komodo Island and west of Lembata Island. The west coast port town of Labuan Bajo is a gateway to Komodo National Park, known for its carnivorous Komodo dragons and waters teeming with sea life, including manta rays and turtles. Also on the island is Kelimutu National Park, with its volcano and 3 intensely colored crater lakes....Kelimutu is a volcano, close to the small town of Moni in central Flores island in Indonesia. It is around 50 km to the east of Ende, Indonesia, the capital of Ende regency in East Nusa Tenggara province. It has three volcanic crater lakes that differ in color.
