Australia: Melbourne – Great Ocean Road (2011)

Melbourne is the coastal capital of the southeastern Australian state of Victoria. The Great Ocean Road is an Australian National Heritage listed 240-kilometre stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Allansford.

🙂 Beaches. Friendship. Sunning views.

🙁 Expensive!

This was the highlight for the girls! They had been so looking forward to seeing the APs as they were best buddies with Immie and Pip at EH before they went back to Australia. John was a HM and Economics Teacher at Geelong Grammar, which is where Prince Charles spent a year doing their Timber Tops Programme – very prestigious. We headed straight to a wildlife park which was so cool as we got to see all the iconic Australian wildlife.

The next day we did the iconic Great Ocean Highway Drive – spectacular as always. We had a delicious (and very expensive!) lunch by the beach.

We were so sad to say farewell…we had enjoyed such laughter … we really miss these crazy guys!

We went to visit Simone … Simone has visited the UK a few times and i have done a few City breaks with her but the last time we saw each other was in 1995 when we spent two weeks with them while our campervan was being repaired – we had a great time, playing Cannasta, wine tasting and lots of chatting. So it was quite a reunion to get us all together again. Our Caitlyn is named after their Caitlyn. We had not seen richard and Louise since BBC days back in 1992! What a fun evening.
