🙂 Great to see family. The Royal Wedding!

🙁 Waiting at Doctor surgery for diving fitness certification

We had received notification from the Dive School on Heron Island that we all required medical certificates to dive. We managed to book into a local practice on Bribie Island but it was a waste of a few hours for a matter of 2 minutes of paperwork! Never the less we were all set. We then headed over to Uncle Ernie and Aunty Joan’s place on Bribie Island. Paul and I had last stayed with them in 1995 with Trent. Uncle Ernie was in his lat e90s but in good health. He shared his notebook where he kept meticulous records of all their houseguests throughout their years in Australia – we featured in the 19965 entry!

After a lovely visit we left and headed off to Gympie to visit Paul’s cousin, Jane who was a flying doctor and now owns. large medical practice and lives on a farm. It was a 2 hour drive and we arrived fairly late but we sat around the fire and had a good catch up.

The next morning was 29 April 2011 – the day of the Royal Wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton. We watched bits and pieces – quite magnificent and Kate looked stunning. We then went to meet the Bramen cattle herd including Malcolm who Jane had hand reared. He was a huge bull and did not like men so Paul stayed behind the the safety of the vehicle while we gently introduced ourselves. He adored Jane and licked her … sadly he charged Chris and nearly killed him a few weeks later so he had to be shot as he was just too dangerous 🙁

The girls were very excited as Jane had some horses.

We really enjoyed our stay at the farm and catching up with Jane and her animals.
