SA: West Coast National Park

The West Coast National Park lies 88 km north of Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The park is found inside of the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve, part of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme. The West Coast National Park is home to over 250 bird species, making it a bird-lover’s paradise. There are four hides inside the park, which provide excellent viewing. Flamingos, ostriches and black harriers can be seen hanging out in the area, along with curlew sandpipers, sanderlings and knots, which journey some 15000 km from Russia to breed at the park each year! best time to visit is in August / September for the magnificent display of fynbos.

SA: Kruger National Park – Albasini Ruins

For the more historically minded traveller on a Kruger Park safari, entering at Phebeni Gate will be a good option, as a stone’s throw from the gate is the Albasini Ruins. The Albasini Ruins gives visitors the opportunity to have a look into the Park’s rich history. Albasini was a Portuguese trader in the area and the ruins are what are left of his 19th century trading post. Goods sold here varied from beads to clothes and even metal products. Although only a few crumbling walls remain there are small display rooms on site where you will be able to view the relics that were uncovered from the area.

UK: ABBA Voyage

It was time to celebrate Charlotte's Birthday - what could be better than: ABBA Voyage is a virtual concert residency by the Swedish pop group ABBA. The concerts feature virtual avatars, depicting the group as they appeared in 1977. The concerts are held in a purpose-built venue at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, officially called the ABBA Arena.

Longboat Key is a town in Manatee and Sarasota counties along the central west coast of the U.S. state of Florida, located on and coterminous with the barrier island of the same name. Everglades National Park is a 1.5-million-acre wetlands preserve on the southern tip of the U.S. state of Florida. Often compared to a grassy, slow-moving river, the Everglades is made up of coastal mangroves, sawgrass marshes and pine flatwoods that are home to hundreds of animal species. Among the Everglades' abundant wildlife are the endangered leatherback turtle, Florida panther and West Indian manatee. Key Largo is an island in the Florida Keys, an archipelago off the south coast of the U.S. state. It’s a popular holiday destination where onshore and offshore state parks provide opportunities for wildlife encounters, fishing, kayaking and diving. Divers and snorkelers visit John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park to view tropical fish and an underwater statue of Christ.

Durham is a city in North Carolina. It's part of the Research Triangle Region, known for its technology companies and scholarly institutions. On the Duke University campus are the neo-Gothic Duke Chapel and the Nasher Museum of Art, with work by contemporary artists like Christian Marclay and Ai Weiwei. The Museum of Life + Science has hands-on exhibits, a butterfly house and wildlife habitats for bears and lemurs.

UK: Scotland – Torridon

This is one of the most stunning parts of the North Coast 500. The Torridon is set in 58 acres of parkland at the end of a magnificent sea loch, The Torridon has one of the most spectacular and idyllic locations in the country. The area is superb for hiking, kayaking, fishing and mountain biking. Beinn Alligin means the Mountain of Beauty or Jeweled Mountain - and it lives up to the name offering one of the Torridon ridge traverses, with spectacular views and stunning terrain. It includes a traverse of the Horns, which offer reasonably straightforward summer scrambling. Challenging but worth every step (in good weather!).

Kenya 2022: CULTIVA and homeward bound

Fine dining with a rustic feel. Cultiva is a pop up on an organic farm in Langata. The food is fine dining, the venue farmyard chic.The restaurant space is nestled between two shipping containers that act as kitchens. The main kitchen a huge open workspace where you can watch the chefs make dreams come true. On the other side of the room is a vast open bar, made of chunky wood and backed by exposed brick walls. The furniture made of converted barrels sits around high tables, decorated with baobab pods and candles. Produce is grown freshly in the veg patches surrounding the outside dining tables.
