Croatia: ‘Wilma of Sweden’ Yacht Charter – Day 4

Day 4 of our adventure: Korcula to Scedru (Borova Bay) to Bay of Vinogradišće. (Hvar)

🙂 FUN! FUN! FUN!

🙁 Hvar very quiet due to Covid – no partying!

Day 4 started with a spectacular sunrise. Another divine breakfast was served followed by fishing, swimming, reading and chilling in Borova Bay before heading to the bay of Vinogradišće for the evening. The water taxi touts for business in the bay and collected us at 5pm for our exploration of Hvar! SO cool – the music was BOOMING as we flew across the water for the 15minute transfer!

Hvar is renown for its glitz and glamour and attracting wealthy and beautiful celebrities and jetsetters. It was very quiet which allowed us to appreciate the white washed medieval town and cobbled streets in peace. Looming high above the town is the Fortica fortress. It is worth the trudge up through the old town streets as you are rewarded with magnificent views over Hvar and across the Pakleni Islands. The Byzantines built a Citadel here in the 6th Century and the Venetians began construction of the present day fortress in 1278. Hvar’s population sheltered here when the Turks ransacked their town.

Hvar is known as a party place that never sleeps. The party usually starts at Hula Hula Hvar Beach Bar which was a 20 minute walk west of the Old Town on the seaside between Hotels Amfora and Podstine. Everyone had been looking forward to this evening being our BIG night but sadly Covid had other plans. Never the less we enjoyed our iced pina coladas and some shots. No resident DJ and very quiet but you can imagine how electric the atmosphere must be when in full swing. Oh well, we had a taster and enjoyed the chilled out music and sunset. Usually after Hula Hula you would head off in a free water taxi to Carpe Diem beach which stages parties throughout the peak season to dance until dawn. Unfortunately it was closed so we went to meet our water taxi to head back to our boat to the boom of his party music.

By now we were starving so we headed straight to Zori Restaurant in our Bay. Location, service, wine and food were all excellent. A grand finale to a wonderful day.
