🙂 Birthdays, Christmas and Friendship
We celebrated a fantastic weekend with the Akessons at Lime Wood in the New Forest.
The first evening was in a stunning B&B outside of Winchester hosted by a lady who had been Prince Charles’ Private Assistant for 15 years.
We visited the Christmas Markets in Winchester – It was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
We then checked into Lime Wood – which is just superb. Set in a Regency-era country estate surrounded by fields, this sophisticated hotel inside the New Forest National Park lies off the B3056 road. It’s 2 miles from the shops and restaurants in the village centre. Featuring forest and field views, the plush rooms offer flat-screen TVs, DVD players, iPod docks and complimentary Wi-Fi. Airy suites have fireplaces and separate living areas, and 2-bedroom cottages and cabins add kitchenettes and free-standing baths. There’s a chic restaurant and a wine cellar, as well as a cookery school. Other amenities include a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, a rooftop garden and a gym. Yoga classes are offered.
We had a lovely walk with the New Forest Ponies followed by a delicious High Tea.
We then headed for a nap and reconvened at the spa for a massage followed by a swim
After all that relaxation we had to head back and get ourselves ready for dinner. An amazing weekend with amazing friends.
