Zimbabwe: Victoria Falls, Coe Wedding on the Zambezi, 1998

This visit to the 'smoke that thunders' was very special as we were invited to our friends' (that we had met on our around the world trip) wedding. Trent was to be ring bearer and Charlotte Bridesmaid - a magical African wedding.... years later we are their three children's Godparents...

🙂 Rob & Jo’s wedding on the Zambezi! Helicopter flip over the Falls. Horse riding. Victoria Falls Hotel

🙁 Not a negative vibe in sight! Everything was just perfect. 🙂

We have had the privilege of visiting three times: 1994, 1998 and 2010. This trip serves to remind us of the wonderful celebration of Rob and Jo’s wedding on the Zambezi where Trent was a ring bearer and Charlotte a bridesmaid – a wonderful African wedding complete with choir – divine. (We met Rob & Jo on our world trip in Nepal in November 1995 and became close family friends – we are now proud godparents to their 3 beautiful adult children!).

We stayed at the wonderful Victoria Falls Hotel where the bride and bridesmaid got ready! What a joyful occasion. I was pregnant with Caitlyn so she was there too … albeit a twinkle in my eye … 🙂

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the evening.

The following days were filled with fun activities: Walks around the Falls, Horse riding, Flight of the Angels and Elephant rides!

The walk around the Falls was spectacular.

Our next adventure was the Flight of the Angels…we went separately and Charlotte joined Rob and Jo – and was violently ill all over them! Bless them all.

Then it was a safari ride – we saw the most awe inspiring baobab trees.

And if that was not enough we headed over for an elephant safari!

We skipped the bungee jump but enjoyed watching others!

A memorable stay with dear friends enjoying adventures together! But the adventure did not end there – we joined them on their Budddymoon in the Okovango Delta!
