🙂 FAMILY FUN!
We were delighted to spend Christmas with the Buys Family at Leo Lapa and enjoyed daily excursions int the park including a fantastic Bush Walk with Irving Knight (who we have walked with before with Jaco) – very similar style of guiding – fantastic! Golf at Skukuza. Bush Braai. Divine. Here are the highlights!
We LOVE a bush walk. Irving and Jaco were a fantastic dynamic duo when Jaco was still with us and they share a similar and passionate style of guiding. This bush walk took place at Lukumbi – which is a stunning private reserve within Kruger. It was a fantastic day all in all which started with a magnificent sighting of a tusker as we left Mjejane followed by numerous other splendid sightings including a leopard stalking as we entered Lukumbi (and were shouted at for entering a No Entry gate, despite with a SANParks uniform!) then culminated in a brilliant bush walk with elephant, rhino and cheetah! Lunch at Lukumbi was fantastic … we then enjoyed a day of driving followed by a stunning bush braai and nicely rounded off with a big male lion raring at the entrance to Mjejane – What a day!
You can see where the cheetahs had been lying under the tree where the grass was flattened before we disturbed them – a Mother and cub! Far too fast – only first few people saw them dart off – no photos…
Lunch was divine and the shop there stocks really reasonably priced items.
The afternoon game drive was also very productive…great hyena sighting.
We found an abandoned kudu calf 🙁 and … WILD DOG! Looks like it had a snare. Lions strolling on the river bed …and leopard in a tree! It is the Garden of Eden!

The bush dinner was very cosy with lots of story telling around the fire.
The next day we enjoyed a full day drive and brunch to Mlondozi….stunning as ever.
Another good picnic spot is Toshkwane
We collected Elliott from the airport and headed for lunch. Great fun was had by all at the golf course at Skakuza!
Andre had invited us to spend a night at MAJOC which was rather special.
Another amazing trip to the Best Place on Earth!
