UK: Camping – Isle of Wight 2013

The Isle of Wight is an island off the south coast of England. It’s known for its beaches and seafront promenades such as sandy Shanklin Beach and south-facing Ventnor Beach, which is dotted with vintage beach huts. Dinosaur remains and fossils can be seen in areas like Compton Bay and Yaverland Beach. On the island’s western point, The Needles are 3 huge, white chalk rocks, guarded by a 19th-century lighthouse.

🙂 Fantastic footpaths on coastal walkways.

A sailing from Southampton to the Isle of Wight in a vehicle will take you one hour with Red Funnel. We had chosen this destination for our annual camping trip and it did not disappoint. If you enjoy outdoor activities, the Isle of Wight has it all. The stunning coastline and warm climate mean that this Isle of the perfect playground for those who love the outdoors. Walkingcycling and horse-riding are freely available for those of all abilities, with more than 500 miles of footpaths and established walking routes, and 165 miles of bridleways waiting to be discovered. We camped at a coastal rural campsite, right beside a quiet sandy and shingle beach and near the IOW’s Brighstone Forest called Grange Farm. They welcome dogs and you can have campfires
