Sweden: Gothenburg

Gothenburg, a major city in Sweden, is situated off the Göta älv river on the country's west coast. An important seaport, it's known for its Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards like the Avenyn, the city's main thoroughfare, lined with many cafes and shops. Liseberg is a popular amusement park with themed rides, performance venues and a landscaped sculpture garden.

🙂 Great vibe. Fun Fair. Great food. Great hotel!

Another exciting adventure gifted to us by the Akessons – what a great break! As we flew into Gothenburg and were greeted with Sweden’s gorgeous views from the air. Friendly and laid-back, Gothenburg has the hip up-and-coming neighbourhoods, Michelin-starred restaurants and vibrant cultural mix you’d expect in a much bigger city – as well as a world-class craft beer scene and some of the best seafood restaurants in Sweden. If you’re looking for things to do in Gothenburg, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Michael and Elisabeth had put us up in Upper House, Gothia Towers – FANTASTIC. The swimming pool is suspended over the road which you can see from the pool floor – very cool! We enjoyed time in the spa and had hot and freezing baths….. Halfway to heaven, at the top of Gothia Towers, awaits our exclusive Upper House. A paradise for the senses encompassing a five-star hotel and a spa that brings a whole new meaning to well-being. You enter a world of relaxed Scandinavian luxury, where every detail has been carefully designed with the customer experience as its focal point.

As can be seen by the photos, much fun was had by all – true spoils!!

It certainly did feel like heaven on earth!
