🙁 Hangovers!

We had booked a stay here on many friends’ recommendations – everyone that has been here raves about it – if you are considering booking – JUST DO IT! Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill….we stayed in the spectacular Worldview Cottage which certainly has one of the world’s best views and its own private plunge pool and outdoor bath with a view…DIVINE.

On arrival at Ant’s we were immediately blown away. Warm welcome, incredible views and stunning accommodation. WOW. We have since discovered that he is MY cousin’s daughter’s husband’s cousin – work that out! 🙂

World’s View Cottage

On arrival and after checking in with a welcome drink we immediately set off to meet our horses. It was fantastic. I did a slow motion fall from my horse – when we set off on the canter they did not hear me that I had lost a stirrup! I stayed on for the 10minute duration of the canter into full sunshine but when we stopped I slid off! LOL. Paul was hilarious – he has go-pro footage that he filmed and all he is complaining about are his bollocks! Ha! Ha! After being ridden the horses are simply released into the veld and if the want to be ridden (and fed!) the next day they dutifully return to be saddled up! We enjoyed a fantastic 3 hack and a canter before stopping for sundowners … the horses were released into the veld and we were transported back to the main camp.

When we got back our Guide had informed management that Charlotte and Caitlyn were excellent riders (well, they have had ponies since they were each 5 years old) and that they could go with the ‘horse whisperer’ the next day whilst we would enjoy a similar hack as today.

We headed for dinner and me a lovely couple called Tessa (from Durban, SA) and Charlotte (from Cornwall, UK) – we got on like a house on fire!

We chilled by the pool in theafternoon.

Our day was lovely – we stopped at rhino, at buffalo and at sable … the girls got back and reported that they had galloped the farm flat and enjoyed all the surrounding vistas … they had loved every second.

We had persuaded Craig to do a demo of his beloved snakes including a cobra and a puffadder!

That evening we headed to Ant’s and Sascha’s (Owners) for sundowners …and feeding their rhinos… absolutely lovely! Their daughters were so cute – painting our girls’ toes! On the way back we spotted an aardvark! Paul dropped me on the way back to our cottage while Charlotte and Caitlyn staggered into trees – quite hilarious!

Breakfast and the ride was a bit of a blur the next day! What a wonderful stay! Highly recommended.
